Charles E. ‘Chuck’ Lewis

Aug. 4, 1975 - Sept. 8, 2012

SUMMITVILLE, Ind. — Charles E. “Chuck” Lewis, 37, Summitville, died unexpectedly Sept. 8, 2012.

Born Aug. 4, 1975, in Anderson, the son of Harry E. Lewis and Lois (Stottlemeyer) Lewis, he resided in Madison County all of his lifetime.

Chuck was a 1994 graduate of Highland High School. He was currently a store manager at Captain D’s in Anderson, having worked there for the past 20 years. He enjoyed horseback riding, fishing and time spent with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Shannon (Mehling) Lewis; two sons, Carson Mehling-Lewis, at home, and Caelon Charles, whose arrival is expected in January; two brothers, Jerry Eugene (Colleen) Lewis, Blythe, Calif., and Donald James (Tammy) Lewis, Alexandria; sister, Paula Lynn (Charles) Dixon, Alexandria; mother, Lois Maxine Lewis, Alexandria; father and mother-in-law, Tom and Beth Mehling, Yorktown; brother-in-law, Bradley Mehling, Summitville; three nephews, Donald Eugene Lewis, Anderson, Cody Dixon, Alexandria, and Sean Dixon, Anderson; three nieces, Stacy Ann Lewis and Stephanie Cockrell, both of Blythe, Calif., and Ashlee Nicole Lewis, Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Eugene Lewis.

Graveside services will take place at 1:45 p.m. Thursday at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Keith Cramer officiating.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Owens Funeral Home, 412 N. Harrison St., Alexandria.

Memorial contributions are suggested to MainSource Bank, 202 N. Harrison St, Alexandria, for the future benefit of Chuck’s children. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
