---- — ANDERSON — Linda (Appleby) Busby, 80, of Anderson, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at Countryside Manor in Anderson, following an extended illness.
She was born on Aug. 19, 1933, in Anderson, the daughter of Lee Free and Gladys (DisBennett) Free Appleby.
She graduated from Anderson High School in 1951 and worked at Delco Remy in the 1950s. From 1971 to 1993, she worked as head customer service representative at Farm Bureau Insurance in Anderson, and worked at Northgate True Value Hardware in Anderson from 1995 to 2012. She liked to cook and bake, often sharing her dishes with family and friends. Linda always enjoyed spending time with her family and reminiscing.
She is survived by two sons, Bret (Ranaye) Busby, Randy Busby, both of Anderson; two granddaughters, Amy Busby of Anderson, Kelsie Busby of Pendleton; two brothers, Jack (Bobbi) Appleby of Frankton, Brooke (Jackie) Appleby of Venice, Fla.; half-sister, Martha (Phil) Kuhns of Phoenix, Ariz.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel, with the Rev. Kent Stookey officiating. Burial will be at East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson, on a later date.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
