---- — ANDERSON — Olive B. LaGarde, 94, of Anderson, passed away on Feb. 28, 2014, at Community Hospital, Anderson.
She was born Feb. 15, 1920, in Jonesboro, Ind., and resided most of her life in Anderson.
Olive graduated from Marion High School, and retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 46 years of service.
She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Anderson, where she took part in Widows in Action, and sang in the choir, also was a member of the Madison County Sheriff’s Association. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she enjoyed gardening.
Olive is survived by her children, Douglas LaGarde of Muncie, and, Rebecca (LaGarde) Hancock of Anderson; her brother, Louis (Louise) Barrett of Portland; her sister, Pat (Russell) Goff of Marion; grandchildren, Brooke (Hancock) Butler, and Staff Sgt. John Michael Hancock (Wife Tiffany); great-grandchildren, Aidan Broshar, Ava Isabella Broshar, Walter Butler, and Camdayn Butler; and several nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell LaGarde; mother, Eva Barrett; father, Ralph Barrett; and six brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Cable officiating. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Church of the Nazarene, 2324 Jackson St., Anderson, IN 46016, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
