ANDERSON, Ind. —
Larry Dean Harris, 72, of Anderson, died March 23, 2013, at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville, following an extended illness.
He was born Dec. 9, 1940, in Jackson County, Ind., to John and Lola (Wheeler) Harris.
Larry was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and later re-enlisted in the National Guard.
He was manager of Elwood City Cemetery for 20 years.
He was a musician who enjoyed singing and playing the guitar.
Survivor include three sons, Michael Harris, John Harris and Brad Harris, all of Anderson; his brother, James Harris of Seymour, Ind.; and his sister, Iva (husband Charlie) Higgs of Mitchell, Ind.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Leon Sanders; son, Larry Harris Jr.; brothers, Mack Harris, John Harris and Jack Harris; and sister, Evelyn Rose Harris.
A memorial service will be held at noon Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, 229 S. Rangeline Road, Anderson, officiated by Ned Clark, where military rites will be conducted by VFW 266 Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Men for Men Ministries in Anderson.
