ANDERSON — Ricki Ray Kemp, 60, of Anderson, passed away on Dec. 13, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born on Oct. 27, 1953 in Noblesville, Indiana and resided most of his life in Anderson.
He served his country in the Air Force during Vietnam.
He was a retired corrections officer for the Indiana Department of Correction and also owned Raccoon Hideaway Campground in Parke County.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, and was a marksman.
Ricki is survived by his loving wife, Deb (Helsley) Kemp; stepson, Uriah (Dallas) Turpen; grandchildren, Hunter and Taylor Turpen; half-sisters, Joyce Lane and Sandra Beaver; special friends, Rod (Lori) Helsley, Wayne (Penny) Helsley, E.J. (Beth) Helsley, Larry (Vonda) Lucas, Doug (Linda) Darby, and Colleen Kemp; next-door neighbors, Tom and Paula; and niece, Karmin Kemp.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise (Sherrill) Kemp; father, Harvey W. Kemp; brother, Ross Kemp; and half-brother, Steve Kemp.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson.
Services will be Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Brother Michael Dees officiating.
Burial will take place in the Brookside Cemetery, Lapel with military rites by the VFW Post 266.
