ANDERSON — Diane (Lane) Allen, 76, of Anderson, went home to the Lord following an extended illness on Dec. 22, 2013, at Community Hospital, Anderson. She was born on Aug. 8, 1937, in Anderson.
She was a homemaker and had worked at Brockway.
She loved to crochet and knit and make Barbie doll outfits. Unknown to most, she was an excellent artist.
Diane is survived by her siblings, Ernest (Sue) Lane, Warner Lane; special nephew and caregiver, Mark Turner; stepchildren, Gary Allen, Sandra Hinkle and Terri Recker; six step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her special dog, Zelia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlo Dean Allen, who died March 16, 2013; father, Walter Lane Sr.; mother, Lucille (Trace ) Lane; siblings, Walter (Frances) Lane Jr., Leah (Harry) Reeder, Virginia Williams, Frances Lane, Robert (Dorothy) Lane, Cecelia (Jim) Turner, Rex Lane; and sister-in-law, Norma Lane.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Joe Huff officiating.
Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
