NEW CASTLE — Dorothy Pauline Barkdull, 95, of New Castle, passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at St. Vincent Hospital.
She was born Oct. 29, 1918, in New Castle, to the late Jess and Rozoltha (Hayden) Jackson.
She retired from Guide Lamp in Anderson in 1982 following 30 years of service.
Survivors include three daughters, Judith A. (Thomas) Hedrick of Oxford, Ind., Nancy J. (Steve) Hernly of New Castle and Martha J. (Walter) Stoots of New Castle; grandchildren, Leann (Steve) Brace, Michael (Emma) Hedrick, Susan Wallen, Chris Hernly, Michele Stoots (deceased) Jeffrey (Laura) Stoots, Julia (John) Anderson; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; brother-in-law, Joseph Calabra of Hobe Sound, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Barkdull, in 1972; and four siblings, Frank, Floyd and Jesse Jackson and Rosemary Calabra.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with the Rev. Tom McGilliard officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home where there will be an Eagles memorial service at 10:45 a.m.
