---- — PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — James Howard Granlund, 78, passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, in Port Charlotte, Fla.

He was a retired funeral director, entrepreneur who co-founded GEO Services, Anderson Ind., an avid Yankee fan and loving father.

He is survived and will be dearly missed by his beloved Josephine Granlund; daughter, Cheryl Allen (Steve); sons, D. Todd Granlund (Trena) and Richard K. Granlund (Candi). Jim has eight grandchildren, Tony, Brett, Scott, Tricia, Tyler, Elise, Connor and Laurel; and five beautiful great-grandchildren, Audree, Ayva, Caden, Mariah and Brooklyn. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Granlund (Marsha), Fowler, Ind.; and sister, Linda Sproul (Lou), Oxford, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lynden (Swede) and Lillis Granlund.
