ANDERSON — Gerald Bevins, 78, of Anderson, passed away on Dec. 17, 2013, at Golden Living Center in Muncie after several years of battling lung cancer.
He was born on Feb. 1, 1935, in Wise, Va., and resided most of his life in Anderson.
Gerald had professed to being a Christian and said that he would meet us all in Heaven!
Gerald served his country in the Army for three years and was in Germany during the Korean War.
He worked for Ford Motor Co. in Indianapolis and Allied Van Lines in Newark, Ohio.
Gerald is survived by his twin brother, Harold Bevins; sisters Irma Lee Humerickhouse and Sally Irene Ruefenacht of Anderson; nieces Angela Williams, Jennifer and Gina Humerickhouse and Pam Butz; nephews Mark Bevins and Randy Humerickhouse; cousin Patrick Andersen; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He also had lots of cousins throughout Kentucky, Indiana, and Virginia; special friends Kedrick and Pearl Holbrook, and lots of friends whom he grew up and worked with, and attended school with in Indiana and Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lilon E. Bevins and Lillie L. (Dotson) Bevins.
A memorial service will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, at Bethany Baptist Church, 323 E. School St., Anderson.
