ANDERSON — Marilyn A. (Maynard) Hughel, 81, of Anderson, died Dec. 30, 2013, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born Aug. 4, 1932, in Anderson, to Wilfred E. and Thelma (Brown) Maynard.
She graduated from Anderson High School in 1950, married Harry “Bill” Hughel on March 18, 1952, and was a loving wife and homemaker.
She was an active church member at Chesterfield Christian Church; a member of the board of United Faith Housing; active in the Victoria Guild, Order of the Eastern Star, and Job’s Daughters. She was affiliated with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and liked to travel and enjoyed reading and her grandchildren.
She is survived by one son and two daughters, Joel Hughel of Anderson, Jill (Mark) Wylam of Minnesota, and Jenny (Brian) Deeds of Anderson; six grandchildren, Michelle Frederick, Hayley Hughel, Mike Wylam, Nick Wylam, Hilary Hughel and Leila Hughel-Deeds; and one great-grandchild, Lexis Frederick.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry Hughel, in 2009; and son, Jeffrey W. Hughel, in November 2013.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Ned Clark officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bronnenberg Cemetery, Chesterfield.
Memorial contributions may be given to United Faith Housing.
