---- — LAKELAND, Fla. — Former Lapel resident Viola Galliher, 98, Lakeland, Fla., passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at Lakeland Terrace Nursing Home in Lakeland, Fla.
She was born on Aug. 16, 1915, in Martinsville, Ind., to Clinton and Clora Ennis.
Viola retired from the former Delco Remy Division of General Motors in Anderson after 26 years of employment.
She was a member of the Holiday Rambler Club and she and her husband spent many years of their retirement split between Florida and Indiana. They enjoyed traveling the United States with their friends.
She is survived by one son, Jerry (wife, Sue) Galliher of Lakeland, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Sue Haines of Noblesville; five grandchildren, Shelly Hogan, Kent Haines, Kurt Haines, Rick Morelock, and Cindy Harvey; 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 75 years, Frank Galliher; a son, Richard Haines; a daughter, Beverly Ann Johnson; and a granddaughter, Jana Morelock.
Graveside service will be held at later date at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel.
Arrangements are being handled by Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, Lapel.
