FISHERS, Ind. —
James Parker Gale, 89, Fishers, passed away March 4, 2013, at Hamilton Trace in Fishers.
He was born on Dec. 3, 1923, in Chicago, Ill., and resided most of his life in Anderson. James graduated from Springfield High School in Springfield, Ohio. He attended the University of Chicago, and graduated from Purdue University.
He served his country in the United States Marines.
He retired as an electrical engineer from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 38 years.
He was a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and First United Methodist Church, Anderson. James was very involved in community activities and loved to travel with his wife and family.
James is survived by his loving spouse of 62 years, Mae Ellen (Church) Gale of Fishers; children, Elizabeth (Calvin) Kuhn of Indianapolis, and Jeff (Barbara) Gale of Indianapolis; sister, Jane Hood of Florida; grandchildren, Allison Kuhn, Laura Kuhn and Marsha Wheatcraft; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Meredith (Betty) Church and Manson (Phyllis) Church; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Jane Gale; and a brother, John Gale.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Bill Mathys officiating. Cremation will take place and burial of ashes will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
