Bonnie Taylor Martin

Dec. 5, 1928 - March 29, 2013

ANDERSON, Ind. — Bonnie Taylor Martin, 84, Anderson, passed away March 29, 2013, at Community Hospital after a brief illness surrounded by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Carey McLaughlin, and grandsons, Brion and Chad McLaughlin.

She was born Dec. 5, 1928, in Broadhead, Ky., the daughter of the late Bertie (Baker) and Emmett Taylor. She lived in Anderson for the past 20 years, moving here from Delaware, Ohio. In 1993 she retired from Auto Owners Insurance as assistant to the adjustors. After moving here to Anderson, she was a server at Valley Grove School and also did alterations for Glitz Boutique and was a server for Glitz Café.

She will always be remembered for her kindness and for her service to others. Always ready to lend a helping hand, especially for her grandsons and special grand dogs Scoobie and Achilles.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Carey) McLaughlin of Anderson; two grandsons, Brion McLaughlin and Chad McLaughlin, both of Orlando, Fla.; one sister, Jo Burdette of Richmond; two nieces, Doris (Jerry) Boomershine of Swanee, Ga., and Suzanne (James) Burke of Richmond; and one nephew, Dennis (Barbara) Burkette of New York.

She was preceded in death by her husband, K. David Martin, in 2003; two sisters, Illa Burns and Loretta McWhorter, and one nephew, Greg McWhorter.

The family would like to extended special thanks to Dr. Saiful Kabir, Dr. Jon Maier, Dr. Andy Richardson and the Community Hospital ICU staff including Shelly, Bonnie, Cindy, Kate, Joe and Amy. We are forever indebted to your loving care and kindness during this time.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Carstens officiating.  Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Center or the Madison County Humane Society.
