ANDERSON — Doyle Matheney, 69, of Anderson, died March 11, 2014, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after a brief battle with cancer.
He was born March 27, 1944, in Monterey, Tenn., to Herman and Effie Mae (Cates) Matheney.
He worked production at Kauffman Products Inc.
He is survived by his son, Doyle Scott Matheney of New Haven; daughter, Kelly (Mike) Gaskill of Pendleton; sister, Sandra Shrader of Fort Wayne; stepdaughter, Karen (Scott) Williams of Anderson; stepsons, Tim Haney of Anderson, and Chuck (Lene) Haney of St. Augustine, Fla.; grandchildren, Brian Wilhoite, Joshua (Kily) Gaskill, Zachary (Courtney) Gaskill, Heather (Eric) Prophet and Destiny (Rosman) Bautista; great-grandchildren, Morgan Prophet, Abigail Gaskill and Jace Gaskill; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 34 years, Mattie (Wilson) Matheney; and three brothers, Herman “Jr.” Matheney, Bobby Matheney and Billy Matheney.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Dr. Art Jaggard of First Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the service at 2 p.m. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.
