---- — ANDERSON — Bessie Ellen Crim, 77, passed away on March 20, 2014. She was born on Dec. 11, 1936, in Anderson.
Bessie graduated from Anderson High School, Class of 1955.
She is a retired past activity director at several nursing homes.
She was a member of Cross Roads United Methodist Church. Ellen organized Post Polio Support Groups for 15 years and also started the Central Indiana Post Polio Group. She was a polio survivor. She was an avid Colts fan. She was a lover of people and enjoyed being with friends and family.
Bessie is survived by her sons, Gregory (Terri) Waggoner and Scott (Barbara) Waggoner; grandchildren, Brandi Waggoner-Utley (Josh), Adrian Steigerwalt, Mike (Shelley) Housh and Justin (Lisa) Housh; great-grandchildren, Aden, Aubrey, Austin, Jeffery, Jennifer, Carissa, Cade and Cole; nieces and nephews, Danny, Jack, Bob, Drew, Debbie, Sandy, Linda, Helen and Jan; special companion, Tobi, and special friend, Shurretta Schuckers.
She was preceded in death by mother, Pearl (Walker) Hitchcock; father, Louis Hitchcock; sister, Janice Willoughby; and sister, Jane Snowden.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory.
Services will be 6 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home with Pastor John Hackney officiating.
Burial will take place in East Maplewood Cemetery at a later date.
