ANDERSON — E. Edward James, 86, of Anderson, passed away on March 28, 2014, at Saint Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital. He was born on Aug.22, 1927, in Flemingsburg, Ky. and resided most of his life in Anderson.
Edward graduated from Anderson High School in 1947. He served his country in the Navy during the Korean War.
He worked for the Water Department for the City of Anderson and also Anaconda.
He loved to play golf at Grandview. He was a former member of the Eagles and the Edgewood Country Club. He was a member of the Anderson Church of the Brethren where he was a deacon, attended Bible studies and participated in the Welcome Home Veterans Program.
Edward is survived by his loving spouse of 62 years, Jo Anne (Dent) James; children, Danny (Kim) James and Jane Ann Russell; grandchildren, Lauren Walden, Jordan Russell, Taylor Russell, Katie Lauren James, Zachary James, and Bailey Sobjack; brothers, William (Mary) James and Freddie (fiancee, Joyce Thayer) James; aunt, Zoo Colvill; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by mother, Lola (McKee) James; father, John James Sr.; siblings, John James Jr. and Joy Brock; and son-in-law, William Russell.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2014, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will be Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with John Wrightsman officiating.
Entombment will take place in the Anderson Memorial Park with military rites by the VFW Post #266.
Memorial contributions may be made to Anderson Church of the Brethren.
