ANDERSON — Lenora G. (Goldsmith) Hensley, 85, of Anderson, died March 28, 2014, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital following a year-long illness.
She was born Feb. 1, 1929, in Anderson, to William Hubert and Caroline E. (Cates) Goldsmith.
She was a nurse aide, bookkeeper and worked at General Motors during World War II.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She loved gardening, she was a self-taught seamstress who enjoyed crocheting and knitting.
She loved her animals and enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her four children, Jack F. Hensley Jr., Laura K. Hensley and Thomas C. Hensley, all of Anderson, and Rebecca L. Hensley of California; four grandchildren, Derrick Hensley and Heather Hensley of California, and Christine R. Hensley and James Hensley of Anderson; five great-grandchildren, Dylain Hensley, Khairi Hensley, Aidon Hensley, Zion Hensley and Tessa Hensley; and two special companions, Emmylu and Alfie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Hensley Sr.; and her sister, Elizabeth Dilts.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at East Maplewood Cemetery with the Rev. William Mathys officiating.
Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be given to Madison County Humane Society or A.R.F. in Muncie.
