---- — ANDERSON — Dorothy J. (Moorman) Crowder, 83, Anderson, died Nov. 17, 2013, at Community Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born Aug. 29, 1930, in Marion, the daughter of Ralph Moorman and Mary (Barrett) Moorman, and resided in the Alexandria-Anderson area most of her lifetime.
Dorothy was a graduate of Alexandria High School, Class of 1948. She retired from Guide Lamp, formerly of Anderson, in 1988 after 26 years of employment. She was a member of the Cross Roads United Methodist Church of Anderson. Dorothy liked to cross stitch, fish and was an avid fan of IU basketball, Pacers and the Colts. Family time was very important to her and she dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her two sons, Alan R. (Vickie) Muey of Alexandria, and Phil (Marsha) Crowder of Elwood; four grandchildren, Alan Michael Muey, Amy Bond, Alicia (Jason) Cox and Ashley Webb; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Wanda (Zell) Hazelbaker of Matthews; special friend, Barbara Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years, Harris Crowder, in 2003; three brothers, Ralph Moorman Jr., Robert Moorman and Richard Moorman; and a sister, Rosemary Boles.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Noffze Funeral Home, 501 N. Harrison St., Alexandria, with Pastor John Hackney officiating. Interment will follow in Grant Memorial Park in Marion.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home
