BRADENTON, Fla. -- Mrs. Pearl Annette Miller, 101, formerly of Anderson, passed away Sept. 9, 2013, in Bradenton, Fla. Pearl was born Aug. 15, 1912, in Oneida, Ky.
The daughter of the late David and Sally Hensley, she married Edward Miller in 1935 who was a farmer in Holton, Ind, who preceded her in death in 1992. They retired and moved to Anderson in 1970.
Pearl was employed for 15 years as a psychiatric aide at Muscatatuck State School and was named “Indiana’s Psychiatric Aide of the Year” by the National Association for Mental Health
She was a loving wife and mother and a longtime member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Osgood and St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Anderson.
She is survived by three daughters, Mona Kramer and Ruth (Gary) Allison all of Bradenton, FL and Sally (Tim) Bertram of Franklin; one brother, Ralph Wilson of Anderson; one sister, Julia Keefer of Ohio; 20 nieces and nephews and especially, David and Terry Eckstein of Anderson who helped oversee Pearl when she lived in Anderson. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and her god child, Ralph Miller of Osgood.
Service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with Monsignor Robert Sell officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the hospice of choice.
