ELWOOD — William Blake, 73, of Elwood, died Oct. 28, 2013, at Community Parkview Care Center in Elwood.
He was born June 14, 1940, in Freeport, Ill., the son of Ralph and Wilhelmina (Yde) Blake. He retired in 2002 from Delco Remy Corp. in Anderson after 38 years. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Ball State University. Bill married Teresa J. McCorkle on March 7, 1988. He was a member of the Elwood Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and United Auto Workers Local 662.
Bill’s family includes wife, Teresa J. Blake of Elwood; six children, Mark (Nancy) Robbins of Indianapolis, Lisa (Chris) Oakes of Middletown, John (Susan) Blake of Pendleton, Mary Blake of Middletown, Chris (Daphne) Noone of Elwood, and Amber Noone of Fishers; sister, Kae Schleicher; eight grandchildren; in-laws, Hershel and Mary “Maxine” McCorkle; and nephew, Scott (Julie) Schleicher.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Katherine Marie Blake; and son-in-law, Ronnie Figg.
Services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with President Terry Hartman presiding. A graveside service and burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
