The Herald Bulletin
---- — ANDERSON — The Rev. Gerald Peak went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 22, 2013.
Gerald was born April 14, 1963, in Gary, Ind., to John Lark Sr. and Cynthia Watson.
Gerald moved to Anderson at age 3 and was a longtime resident. He graduated from Highland High School. For those who knew him, they would know he loved fishing, skating, spending time with friends and family and his grandkids. Gerald never met a stranger because everyone he met became his friend.
He accepted Christ into his life at the age of 40 and received his calling to minister thereafter. He continued to be faithful to his ministry, sharing with those who would listen and even those who would not. He started out as an associate pastor at Second Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. William O’Neal. Later, God called him to another assignment to be associate pastor of Anderson Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Terry D Bush.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of over 30 years, Pamela Smith Peak; three children, Ambera (Donald) Oyoo, Megan Smith Peak and Landon Smith Peak; mother, Cynthia Peak Watson; father, John E. (Shirley) Lark Sr. of Chicago; sisters, Arnetta Peak Randall, Nicole Balflour Watson of Muncie, Karen Lark of Crown Point, Latonya Lark of Gary, and Thelesa Bester and Velicia Dangerfield, both of Chicago; brothers, Franklin (Yvette) Peak of Anderson, Mychal (Jackie) Peak of Norcross, Ga., Khola (Lacey) Watson, Eric (Dorica) Watson of Muncie, Aaron (Venecia) Watson of Indianapolis, Antione (Glennell) Lark of Duluth, Ga., John (Lois) Lark Jr. of Gary, and Anwar Hopgood of Anderson; grandchildren, Verbal J. Brown Jr., Eli Oyoo and Julyan Oyoo, all of Noblesville, and Addonis Smith of Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts and friends.
