CHUCKEY, Tenn. — Francis C. Evans, 84, of Chuckey, Tenn., passed away Oct. 29, 2013, in Greeneville, Tenn.
He was formerly from Gas City, Ind., where he lived for 58 years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War.
He was the owner of Gold Bar Livestock Equipment in Matthews, Ind., for more than 30 years. He was previously vice president for Avis Industrial Co. in Upland, Ind. He was a member of Greeneville Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Randall and Melinda Evans of Matthews, Ind., and Jeff and Linda Evans of Upland, Ind.; four grandsons: Joseph Evans and Christopher (Sarah) Evans of Matthews, Jeremy and Christina Evans of Virginia Beach, Va., and Josh Evans of Fort Wayne, Ind.; one granddaughter, Jessica Evans of Upland; one sister: Lilly Thomas of Payton, Ky.; one aunt, Ruth Whittaker of Chuckey, Tenn.; and special friends and loved ones in Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janice Todd Evans; and his parents, William and Rosa Evans.
Funeral services will take place at noon Wednesday at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City.
Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Anderson, Ind.
