---- — MARKLEVILLE — Sally C. Gustin, 83, of Markleville, passed away Nov. 9, 2013, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born Dec. 14, 1929, the daughter of Roy and Clara (Brandt) Caudell, in Daleville, and lived most of her life in Markleville. In 1999, she retired from Delco Remy after 49 years of service.
Sally was a member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church until its closing in 2001, and then joined Markleville East Christian Church. She was a life member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority, served on the Markleville Town Council, Markleville Lions Club, and the Madison County Chamber of Commerce. In 2013, she received the Markleville Outstanding Citizen Award.
She is survived by her son, Rick (wife, Nancy) Gustin of Belfast, Tenn.; three daughters, Debbie (husband, Grant) Griner of Anderson, Dianna Cole of Mishawaka, Ind., Darlene (husband, Kevin) Coverdale of Markleville, and daughter-in-law Karen Gustin of Markleville; 13 grandchildren, Joe, Nick, Katie, Amanda, James, Jason, Paul, Laura, Ashley, Whitney, Chris, Heather and Haley; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Lou Vestal of Kansas City, Mo.; brother-in-law, Herbert (wife, Mary) Gustin of Markleville; two aunts, Wanda Street of Anderson and Loretta Trotter of Tennessee; several nieces nephews; and good friend, Sam Weist of Markleville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Gustin, and son, R. Michael Gustin.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory in Anderson, with Rick Schoeff and Pastor Michael Srbljan officiating. Burial will be in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
