ANDERSON, Ind. — Dona “Jo Jo” (Herb) Alcott, 89, of Anderson, passed away Nov. 11, 2013, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born Sept. 1, 1924, the daughter of Louis and Grace (Small) Herb, in Fountainette, Ind. She moved to Anderson in 1987 after residing in Fort Wayne for 26 years, where she had worked as a waitress for 20 years.
She was very devoted to her loving family.
She is survived by her brother, James Herb; two sisters, Phyllis Bryant and Patsy Welsh; nieces and nephews, Timothy (wife, Terry) Herb, Cynthia (husband, David) Potter, Debra (husband, George) Lambesis, David (wife, Betsy) Welsh, Philip Haas, Sandra (husband, Vearl) Beckham, Pamela (husband, Michael) Walker and Polly (husband, Paul) Scott; two special great nieces, Andrea (husband, Andrew) Hunt and Stacey (husband, Tim) Gilman; three great nephews, Tom Beckham, Jay Orbik and Jeff Orbik; several other great-nieces and nephews and several great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Alcott; her brother Jerry Herb, and two nephews, Bryan Herb and Tracy Herb.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service and Crematory. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
