ANDERSON – Shirley Marie Welker died April 4, 2014.
Shirley was born to Elmer and Leah (Hodges) Campbell on June 22, 1935, in Albion, Ill. She worked at Dorothy Blevins Shoppes and later at the Colonial Bakery Thrift Store.
Shirley enjoyed all wildlife, butterflies and owls. But, most importantly, she enjoyed her family.
Shirley is survived by a daughter, Dana Welker Tornow of College Grove, Tenn.; two sons, Jay Welker of Anderson, and Jeff (Jennifer) Welker of Middletown; one sister, Norma (Campbell) Wright of Anderson; one brother, Terry Campbell of Anderson. She is also survived by granddaughters, Brandy (Ryan) Musick and Jenni (Jeffrey) Tragresser, all of Anderson, Tayla Tornow of College Grove, Tenn.; great-granddaughters, Rilee Welker and Nathalie Trueblood, all of Anderson, and great-grandson, Keegan Tragresser of Anderson; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and special family friend, Talema Fort.
Shirley was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Welker; a grandson, Dustin Pinyon; a brother, Leon Campbell; and her mother and father, Elmer and Leah Campbell.
Special thanks to the doctors and staff at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital and to Dr. Mark Stinson and his staff. A special thanks to Shirley’s neighbors throughout the years, which included the “Brentwood Bunch.”
Cremation will take place at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 504 W. Ninth St., Anderson.
No services are scheduled.
Memorial contributions may be made in Shirley’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
