James L. Hahn Jr.

June 28, 1939 - April 15, 2014

ANDERSON — James L. “Jim” Hahn, Jr., 74, passed away Tuesday morning, April 15, 2014, at the St. Vincent Regional Hospital following a brief illness.

He was born on June 28, 1939, in Muncie, the son of James L. Sr. and Emma M. (Huggins) Hahn.

Jim married the love of his life, Sandra R. (Smith) Hahn, on Oct. 18, 1968, in Muncie, and she survives.

He graduated from a cooperative GED program with General Motors and Anderson University. He had worked for General Motors Corp. of Anderson for 35 years, retiring in 2002 as an inventory specialist or “Tugger.” Jim was proud to have served in the United States Navy as a boiler specialist. He had been a member of the Muncie Kiwanis Club, where he had served as the past president and past lieutenant governor, and the United Auto Workers Union Local 663.

Jim enjoyed photography and several genres of music. Family times with his children and grandchildren were very special to him.

Besides his wife of 46 years, Sandra, he is survived by one daughter, Stephanie Jane Hahn, Carmel; two sons, Christopher (wife, Angela), Nashville, Tenn., and Jeremiah Hahn (wife, Caitlin), Anderson; four grandchildren, Caelan Kendall-Hahn, Carmel, Zachary Lee, Elizabeth and Alyssa Hahn, all of Nashville, Tenn.; brother, Robert Hahn (wife, Judy), Muncie; one sister, Sarah Caldwell, Muncie; special great-nephew, Stevie Hahn, Muncie; nephew, Dustin Caldwell, Muncie; one aunt, Wilma Weaver, Cammack; one uncle, Donald Huggins, Simpsonville, S.C.; father- and mother-in-law, Melvin and Lois Smith, Muncie; sister-in-law, Deborah Tudor (husband, Richard), Muncie; brother-in-law, Daniel Smith, Muncie; nephew, Daniel Tudor (Beth), McCordsville; niece, Natalie Guzman (husband, Jon), Fishers; special great-nieces and nephews, Conner Mougeotte, Tori and Faith Guzman, Miles and Mason Tudor; several cousins; and his beloved pet dog, Noel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Denzel; and one nephew, Robert “Bobby” Hahn II.
