Evelyn L. Loser

Nov. 8, 1923 - June 20, 2013

ELWOOD — Evelyn L. Loser, 89, of Elwood, died Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Community Parkview Center in Elwood.

She was born Nov. 8, 1923, in Elwood, the daughter of Jacob W. and Mary A. (Weeks) Scott. Evelyn worked in production for Continental Can Corporation in Elwood for over 30 years and retired in 1982. She was a 1941 graduate of Elwood High School. She married Charles M. Loser on July 7, 1946.

Evelyn was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Elwood and was active in the Lady Elks. She enjoyed crocheting, play euchre and was an avid sports fan. Evelyn formerly enjoyed spending winters in Okeechobee, Fla., and summers at Dewart Lake in Indiana.

Family includes daughter, Cheryl (husband, Bill) Smith of Elwood; sister, Wilma Titus of Yorba Linda, Calif.; granddaughter, Lindsay Smith of Plainfield; brother-in-law, Jerome (wife, Mary) Loser of Lafayette; sister-in-law, Charlene Nappo of Mountain View, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years, Charles M. Loser, who died July 13, 2000; and son, Kenneth Loser, who died in 1975.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2013, at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home, 415 S. Anderson St., Elwood., with the Rev. Josh Carney officiating. Burial will follow at Elwood City Cemetery.

Visitation 2 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given to First Missionary Baptist church.
