Evelyn De St. Jean

Feb. 19, 1930 - April 17, 2013

ANDERSON, Ind. — Evelyn De St. Jean, 83, of Anderson, passed away April 17, 2013 at Community Hospital, Anderson. She was born February 19, 1930 in Gary.

She was a homemaker and our guiding light. Even though she had many physical setbacks during her life it never deterred her ability to always set an example of a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She influenced our lives in such a positive and spirited way. The family was her sole reason for existence, and we are the people we are today because of her. She will forever be in our hearts and memories and will truly be missed by everyone who knew her. Evelyn enjoyed crafts and making ornaments with her great-granddaughters, reading, word searches, and bird watching.

Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Sue (Dr. Howard) Mohler of Anderson, and Jackie De St. Jean of Fishers; granddaughters, Jackie (Mohler) Stein (Steve) of Fishers, Lisa (Mohler) Martin (Andy) of Carmel, Stacey Scofield (Eric) of Fishers, and Sue Evelyn Llewellyn (Brian) of McCordsville;  great-granddaughters, Alexandra Stein, Avery Stein, Cicelia Martin, Rosalie Martin and Makenzie Llewellyn.

She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Shirley Kundrat of Fort Worth, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Helen Finnearty, and her husband of 61 years, Ralph De St. Jean.

The family would like to thank Dr. Kelly Chambers, Dr. Malik, Dr. Jetty, Dr. Oscherwitz, Dr. Rachel Robinson, and a very special caregiver and friend, Sherri Lantz.

Evelyn made plans to be cremated.

A private family memorial service will take place at a later date.

Funeral arrangements are being entrusted to Robert Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Madison County Humane Society.
