ANDERSON, Ind. —
Ronald “R.B., Shark” Ledford, 65, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. He passed away in his home surrounded by family.
He was born March 11, 1948, in Anderson. He was the son of Ruby (Sturgeon) and Raymond Ledford. Ronald resided in Anderson most of his lifetime.
He was a graduate of Anderson High School, class of 1966, where he played basketball. After high school he worked at Delco Remy.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1968-1970, stationed in Hawaii. Upon returning from the service, he continued to work for Delco Remy, where he retired in 2000.
Ronald was an avid golfer, playing at Killbuck and The Players Club. He was also a member of the United Auto Workers Local 662.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy (Ramsey) Ledford; his sons, Mike (Angie) Ledford, Tony Ledford and Toby Ledford; stepchildren, Eric Ramsey, Dawn Ramsey, Leif Ramsey, Ian Ramsey and Brandi Ramsey; grandchildren, Logan and Seth Ledford; and step-grandchildren, Kegan, Trevor, Cierra, Payton, Tori, Weston, Tilus and Maycee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby and Raymond Ledford; and brother, Larry Ledford.
Arrangements were handled by Dignity Memorial of Indianapolis.
