---- — ANDERSON — Herbert L. LaShure, 81, of Anderson, passed away on Sept. 17, 2013, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital.
He was born on Nov. 3, 1931, in Elwood, and resided most of his life in Anderson.
He retired from RCA and also worked for Rax, Elwood Cemetery, Maplewood Cemetery, and Anderson Memorial Park. He was a member of The National Guard.
He was commander at the American Legion, first and second trustee at the American Legion, first and second vice commander at the American Legion, past chaplain of the Elwood Elks Lodge, member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Anderson, Veterans of Foreign Wars Men’s Auxiliary, and lifetime member of the American Legion.
Herbert is survived by his spouse, Evelyn (Bethea) LaShure; daughter, Kathy Osborn (Kevin) of Alexandria; sister, Louise Cogill of Anderson; brothers, William LaShure of Yorktown and Robert LaShure (Patricia) of Chesterfield; four stepchildren; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Estelle LaShure and Louis E. LaShure; and brothers, Carroll L. LaShure and Richard LaShure.
Visitation will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Klinger officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 266 and the National Guard. Burial will take place in Maplewood Cemetery.
