Phyllis J. Jarvis

June 3, 1921 - Sept. 27, 2013

ANDERSON — Phyllis J. Jarvis, 92, Anderson, passed away Sept. 27, 2013, at Countryside Manor Health & Living Community.

She was born June 3, 1921, in Pendleton, the daughter of Walter and Anna (Jones) Clark. She lived in the Anderson and Pendleton area all her life and retired in 1982 from Delco-Remy after 32 years. Phyllis was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church and volunteered at St. John’s Hospital for 23 years.

She is survived by her two daughters, Judy (Bill) Whitinger and Joan Foster, all of Anderson; her son, Mike Jarvis of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren, Jeff (Kristi) Whitinger, Shelly (Tim) Drew, Brian Whitinger, Anna (Caleb) Foster and Chad Foster; five great-grandchildren, Alexis Radley, Mikaela Whitinger, Brandon Drew, Maggie Whitinger and Hannah Drew; one brother, Ronald (Katie) Clark of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd D. Jarvis, and one granddaughter, Amber Foster.

The family would like to thank the staff of Crown Pointe Senior Living Center for all their care and concerns.

Service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Zirkle officiating. Burial will be at Grovelawn Cemetery in Pendleton.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Meadowbrook Baptist Church.
