Jasper Newell Hepfer

June 6, 1929 - Feb. 19, 2013

ANDERSON, Ind. — Jasper Newell Hepfer, 83, of Anderson, departed this earth on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at 4:15 p.m. surrounded by all of his family.

Jasper was born in Pendleton on June 6, 1929, to Edward and Addi (Rector) Hepfer. Jasper served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1948-1952.

He retired from Atlantic Richfield (formerly Anaconda Wire and Cable of Anderson) in 1986.

On July 26, 1963, he married the love of his life, Beverly Ann Wood.

Jasper is survived by his wife of 49 years, Beverly W. Hepfer; sons, Tony (Sandra) Hepfer and Bruce (Pam) Hepfer, all of Anderson, and Steve (Pat) Hepfer of Sarasota, Fla.; daughter, Donna (Jim) Gunn of Noblesville; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and one great-great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Lillian Rector; two brothers, Vincent and Keith Hepfer; his sister, Francis Ockoman; and two sons, Rodney and Mark Hepfer.

Jasper was a man like no other; when he married our mother, she had five children of her own and he had one son. In 1970, he adopted all five of us and at that time, his oldest son was in the service and still changed his name. We were so blessed to have this wonderful man as our father.

A very special thank you to all of his driving and coffee buddies for being such wonderful friends.

Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.

Services will be at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Stubbs officiating with military rites performed by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 266.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics of Hamilton County, P.O. Box 730, Noblesville, IN 46061.
