John Neeley Jr.

June 21, 1963 - Jan. 31, 2012

ANDERSON, Ind. — John Neeley Jr., 48, resident of Anderson, passed away Jan. 31, 2012, after a two-year battle with cancer.

He was born in Hillsborough, Fla., on June 21, 1963, the son of John and Annamarie Brev Neeley.

He was a 1982 graduate of Madison Heights High School in Anderson and served his country as a U.S. Marine from 1984-1988.

He worked for Elsa Corp. for 19 1/2 years. He loved riding and cleaning his Harley, taking motorcycle trips with his wife, riding 4-wheelers, playing cornhole, playing with his grandsons, being with family and having fun with friends.

John touched many people with his smile and generosity and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. He would inspire people to never give up, to never back down, and was there for people.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene (Justice) Neeley of Anderson; a daughter, Amanda Hamilton (Scott) of Pendleton; two grandchildren, Bryden and Zayden Hamilton of Pendleton; parents, John and Annamarie Neeley of Anderson; a brother, Mike (Melinda) Neeley of Orestes; a sister, Julie Neeley of Anderson; two sisters-in-law, Carlene Holland and Angie Bronnenberg of Middletown; father and mother-in-law, Tom and Susie Justice of Middletown; a niece, Tierany Holland of Middletown; and a nephew, Jaykob Bronnenberg of Middletown.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Miller Cemetery, Middletown, with full military rites.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
