Carrie R. Faucett

Feb. 8, 1922 - May 4, 2011

ANDERSON, Ind. — Carrie R. Faucett, 89, of Anderson, died May 4, 2011, at Community Hospital in Anderson.

She was born Feb. 8, 1922, in Breathitt County, Ky., the daughter of Gilbert and Sissie (Lovins) Richie. She worked in production at Guide Lamp in Anderson for nearly 30 years and retired in 1984. She also formerly worked at Red Gold in Orestes for 10 years. She married Joe Faucett on March 27, 1943.

Carrie enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning produce from her garden, and caring for many loved ones.

Survivors include a son, William T. “Tom” (Linda) Faucett of Anderson; a sister, Polly Jackson of Elwood; a brother, Tomy Richie of Alexandria; five grandchidlren, Robin Cline, Melinda Faucett, Melissa Bitter, Michael Priddy and Angela Fox; nine great-grandchildren, Thomas Faucett, Krista Faucett, Jarrett Cline, Trent Bitter, Ashley Fox, Aubrey Fox, Alivia Fox, Shaun Priddy and Christopher Priddy; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Faucett, who died March 4, 1971; two sons, Joe Gilbert Faucett and Lonnie Wayne Faucett; two  brothers, John Richie and Henry Richie; two sisters, Rosie Miller and Bessie Gross; a nephew, Curtis Miller; a niece, Barbara Frye; and a sister-in-law, Mary Richie.

Services will be held at noon Saturday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with the Rev. Roger Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home.
