---- — NOBLESVILLE — Carla Irene (Monroe) Yust passed away on Nov. 4, 2013, in Noblesville at the age of 82.
Carla was born in Anderson, Ind., in October of 1931 and was the daughter of Paul N. Monroe and Elizabeth (King) Monroe of Daleville, Ind. She grew up on her parents’ farm and graduated from Daleville High School in May of 1950.
She married George L. Yust of Anderson in September of 1950 and attended Ball State Teacher’s College, where she completed her bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She taught second grade at College Corner Elementary School in Anderson for many years, then transferred to Killbuck Elementary School for the remainder of her career. She retired from teaching in 1997.
Over the years George and Carla enjoyed raising their children and supporting them in a variety of activities involving athletics and music. They frequently went on camping and fishing trips and supported the high school basketball teams at Highland High School in Anderson, where their sons played basketball in the late 1960s and early 1970s. After the children were grown, George and Carla dedicated themselves to spending as much time as possible with them and providing their sons and grandchildren fun and memorable experiences. Of particular note were the fireworks displays on the Fourth of July.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George; and her brother, Paul Monroe of South Bend.
