FORSYTH, Mo. — Florence Hook Daily was called home by our Lord in the pre-dawn hours of July 21, 2013, following a short illness.
One of eight children of Lawrence and Ellen Hook of rural Madison County, Florence married Wm. Harlan Daily of Fairmount, Ind., in 1938. In 1954 they moved with their 15-year-old son, Tom, to Oklahoma where they resided for 35 years. In 1993 they moved to Forsyth, Mo., where Florence lived until her death.
Florence and Bill were involved in Christian and civic activities and were successful partners in the Folk Art movement of the last century.
Florence is survived by her sister, Betty Abel of Anderson, Ind.; her only child, Thomas Daily of Anderson, Ind.; granddaughters, Lori Bunch and Sabra Lindzy and their families of Anderson, Ind.; many well-loved nieces and nephews; and loving caregiver, Heidi Dudley and family of Missouri.
Welchel Funeral Home, 16560 US Highway 160, Forsyth MO 65653, will host visitation for Florence Daily on Wednesday, July 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at 1 p.m. at the Springfield Military Cemetery.
