ANDERSON, Ind. —
Herbert “Mick” O’Neill, 71, of Anderson, passed away April 22, 2013, at Manor Care after a brief illness.
He was born March 17, 1942, in Anderson, and was a lifelong Anderson resident. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School and received his bachelor degree and master’s degree from Purdue University.
Mick was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, S.O.S. and Indiana Kite Flyers Association. He loved fishing and working with statistical information. He served as caretaker of St. Mary’s Cemetery for several years and was caregiver to Velma Haynes and family.
He is survived by a special granddaughter, Christy (Matthew) Goen; special great-granddaughter, Addison Goen; special family, Barb, Terry and Bobby Ramsey and families; aunt, Norma Jean Roemer; cousins, Larry (Melva) Tegge, Ronald (Pam) Tegge, Jack Tegge, Edward (Sarah) Roemer, Victor (Darlene) Roemer, Robert (Faye) Minton, Michael Minton, Veronica Laughlin and Cheryle Minton; several second and third cousins; and special friends, Ron Grissom, Mike Lavelle, Pat Cornell, Butch Brose, Jim Beaman, Mike Wulle, Tim Long and Francis Carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence “Bud” and Louise “Winnie” (Tegge) O’Neill; and several aunts and uncles.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Robert Williams officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home.
