ANDERSON — Ronald L. Foland, 71, passed away at his home in Anderson after an extended illness, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Anderson on Oct. 8, 1942, to the late Marvin and Vera Foland.
Ron was a graduate of Frankton High School and was a lifelong Anderson resident. He had a career in the engineering field for more than 30 years.
Ron is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janice; two children, Tawni (Todd) Harvey and Jeff (Michelle) Foland; and six grandchildren, Taryn, Tracy, and Tanner Harvey of Anderson, and Zachary, Reece and Tyler Foland of South Barrington, Ill.
He is also survived by his sister, Linda Clouser; and many nieces and nephews.
Ron was fun-loving, hardworking, and family-oriented. He loved fishing, playing sports and spending time with family and friends. He liked to build and create, and could always be found inventing new gadgets and ways to solve problems.
A special thanks for the excellent nursing care provided by the hospice group and doctors at St. Vincent Hospital, and to Larry and Blanche Smith for all of their special care and prayers.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Millikan officiating. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park.
