Harold Kenneth Carmack, 87, of Indianapolis, passed away Aug. 8, 2010.
He was born Nov. 12, 1922, in Overton County, Tenn., to Robert S. and Effie E. (Bowers) Carmack.
Harold had worked as a chef for the Anderson Country Club for 12 years, then 12 years at the Log Cabin in Indianapolis, and retired from the Sahara Grotto in 1988.
Harold served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a member of the VFW.
He was an avid fisherman, loved to tell jokes and had a great sense of humor.
Survivors include his loving children, Harold “Kenny” (Cindy) Carmack, Jr., Brad A. Carmack and Sherry L. (Larry) Hartrick; stepdaughters, Donna (Jack) Zering, Dianna M. (Steve) Juhasz, Becky (Brad) Witt and Cheryl Ransom; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Robert S. and Effie E. (Bowers) Carmack; and his wife, Wilma M. (Perkins) Carmack.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St., Indianapolis.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
