Alice D. Bair

Aug. 15, 1921 - Feb. 19, 2013

SUMMITVILLE, Ind. — Alice D. (Relfe) Bair, 91, Summitville, died Feb. 19, 2013, at Community Hospital, Anderson, after an extended illness.

She was born Aug. 15, 1921, in Fairmount, the daughter of Ozz Relfe and Corean (Howell) Relfe, and resided in the Summitville area all of her lifetime.

Alice attended Summitville schools. She was a homemaker and also worked in the Summitville school cafeteria. She was a longtime member of the Summitville United Methodist Church and the local Home Ec club. Alice was known to be a word search “specialist” along with working puzzle books, both which she greatly enjoyed.

Survivors include two sons, Larry (Peggy) Bair of Summitville, and Jerry (Peggy) Bair of Summitville; grandchildren, Deborah (Doug) Carey of Jonesboro, Angela (Dave) Gunning of Fairmount, Anita (Rod) Tobias of Elwood, Jon (Kathy) Bair of Summitville, Amy (Jamie) Henry of Summitville, Holly (Doug) Harrold of Frankton, and Andy (Melissa) Bair of Summitville; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Tom Bair, in 1996.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Owens-Noffze Funeral Home, 1009 W. Walnut St., Summitville, with the Rev. Anthony Stone officiating. Interment will follow in Vinson Memorial Cemetery, Summitville.

Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Contributions are suggested to the Summitville United Methodist Church through the funeral home.

The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff of Summit Convalescent Center for their loving care of Alice.
