ANDERSON — Marjorie Joan Holland, 79, passed away early Tuesday evening, July 23, 2013, at the Community Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born on June 10, 1934, in Anderson, the daughter of Everett and Margaret (Burkett) Cassell.
She graduated from Anderson High School in 1952. Marjorie married Grant Holland in 1989 and he preceded her in death in 2009. Mrs. Holland had been a homemaker and was a member of the Pauline Avenue Church of God. Marjorie Joan loved gardening.
Survivors include four sons and two daughters, David Woodall, Anderson, Katie Bilbrey (Lee), Anderson, Kevin Lee, California, Brian Lee (wife, Jennifer), Manteaka, Calif., Charlotte Lee, Fontana, Calif., and Stephen Lee (wife, Melissa), Frankton; three stepchildren, Elzie Holland, Texas, and Carol Meridith and Ricki Holland, both of Tennessee; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband of 20 years, Grant, she was preceded by a daughter, Tonia Sills; a stepdaughter, Kay Gunning; her parents; one brother, Charles Cassell.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Parson Mortuary. Graveside services will then be conducted at the Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville.
