ANDERSON, Ind. —
James Robert “Bob” Raper, 92, of Anderson, died on March 23, 2013, at Bethany Pointe Health Campus, following an extended illness.
He was born on May 26, 1920, in Anderson, to Ora and Nellie (Morris) Raper.
He was employed as a tool inspector at Delco Remy Division of General Motors for 42 years, and retired in 1982.
He was a charter member at Mounds Baptist Church.
He enjoyed playing the organ, woodworking and spending time with his family.
Survivors include two daughters, Debby Barnes and Teri (husband, Jon) Burk, all of Chesterfield; brother, George Raper of Anderson; three grandchildren, Wendy (Jason) Engle of Chesterfield, Kim (Nate) Daniel of Muncie and Karen (Scott) Weaver of Ohio; five great-grandchildren, Benjamin Engle, Bryce Weaver, Rylee Weaver, Kerrigan Weaver and Brody Daniel; special loving companion, Dolly Sizelove of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dick Raper and Jack Raper; sister, Phyllis Bannon; and grandson, Andy Barnes.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, 229 S. Rangeline Road, Anderson, with Jeff Hardin officiating. Burial will take place at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Bethany Pointe Health Campus or Southern Care Hospice.
