ALEXANDRIA, Ind. —
Merlin L. Wylie, 65, of Alexandria, went to be with his Lord and Savior April 23 at Community Hospital in Anderson.
He was born in Kokomo, Aug. 4, 1947, to Homer and Nora (Spivey) Wylie.
He owned and operated Merlin Motors for 26 years. He always said he never worked a day in his life because he loved selling cars.
He took great pride in manicuring his lawn. He was a dedicated family man. His grandchildren called him Pappy and they gave him great joy. He was the love of Dianne’s life and will be sadly missed by all.
Survived by his loving wife and best friend of 42 years, Dianne (Witcher) Wylie, they were married on Nov. 19, 1970; three sons, Merlin Ryan (Allyson) Wylie, Justin (fiancé Lauren) Wylie, and Monte Wylie; daughter, Amber (Kyle) Quick; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Quick, Gracie Wylie, and Hayden Wylie; three sisters, Judy Wylie, Tammy (Butch) May, Jean (Don) Hannah; brother, Garry Wylie; two brothers-in-law, Raymond (Janice), Tandy Witcher; sisters-in-law, Debbie, Carol and Wanda Witcher; and mother-in-law, Lorene Witcher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer L. and Nora E. Wylie; sister, Jo Henderson; brother, George Wylie; father-in-law, Dewey Witcher; brothers-in-law, Roger, Bob, and Ernie Witcher; and niece, Christina Witcher.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today. Service to follow with the Rev. Art Jaggart officiating at Harper and Dunnichay Funeral Home, Frankton.
Burial in K of P Cemetery in Frankton.
