Janice A. Harvey

Jan. 5, 1933 - April 7, 2013

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Janice A. Harvey, 80, passed away April 7, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was surrounded by her family as she went on to her final resting place.

Born Jan. 5, 1933, in Summitville, to Ernest Woodruff and Mildred (Hackney) Woodruff, she graduated from Alexandria High School in 1951. She married Marvin L. Harvey on June 3, 1967. She retired after 45 years of being a beautician in San Francisco, Fairmount, Indianapolis and Van Buren. Janice was an avid camper and loved to play cards. She also was a fan of all athletics for her children, grandchildren and other community members.

Survivors include two children, Dallas Duggan of Wabash and Dawn (Jay) Small of Jonesboro; two stepchildren, Keith (Jo) Harvey of Indianapolis, and Karen (Dave) Bupp of Jeffersonville; eight grandchildren, Shannon and Caitlyn Duggan, Ryan, Samantha, Alexandra and Bret Small, Tiffany (Keith) Shelton, and Micaela (Jacob) Lillibridge; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles (Helen) Woodruff and Jim (Judy) Woodruff; two sisters-in-law, Martha Robinson and Eilene Harvey; and several nieces and nephews.

Janice had two “special” children, Tony Tinkle, DeMotte and Sandi Duggan, Upland.

Janice was preceded in death by her father, mother and husband.

A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Ferguson and Glancy Funeral Home, 201 W. Main, Van Buren, with Pastor Brad Wright officiating. Friends may gather with the family to share and remember on Thursday, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
