PENDLETON, Ind. —
Joan (Taylor) Fisher, 86, passed away April 9, 2013 at the Rawlins House in Pendleton.
She was born May 28, 1926 in Anderson and was a longtime Markleville resident before moving to Pendleton.
In addition to being a homemaker, Joan was employed at various jobs before retiring from Best Lock in Indianapolis.
She was a 1944 graduate of Anderson High School and was an active member of Markleville North Christian Church for many years. Joan was a member of Mary Whistler Home Ec Club and enjoyed supporting and attending all her grandchildren’s activities and sporting events.
Survivors include five children, Kathy (husband, Jerry) Coppage of Florida, Greg (wife, Marsha) Fisher of North Carolina, Julie (husband, Randy) Fleetwood of Fishers, Jan Carey, and Kellie (husband, Chris) Schnepp, all of Pendleton; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Janet (husband, Jere) Neely of Greenwood; brother, Frank (wife, Mary Nell) Taylor of Anderson; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, Lewis and Florence (Nealis) Taylor; son-in-law, Kevin Carey; and her husband of 64 years, Frederick R. Fisher.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, Pendleton with Pastor John Hackney officiating. Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m., today at Lahm Chapel, Pendleton.
