ANDERSON — Evelyn L. Durant, 77, a Native American of Anderson, was taken away by her spirit guide, on Nov. 21, 2013, at Community Hospital Anderson.
She was born on May 31, 1936, in Franklin, and resided most of her life in Anderson.
Evelyn graduated from Anderson High School and later graduated from St. John’s Nursing School.
She worked as an office manager for Templeton & Sons and then later worked at Community Hospital for several years as a nurse.
She was a member of Eagles Lodge as a Golden Eagle and an avid gardener.
Evelyn is survived by her loving spouse, Willis Durant; daughter, Ginger (Stephen) Beamer; son, Anthony Wisehart;, brother, Harold Burge; stepson, Richard Durant; stepson, Roger Durant; sister-in-law, Sue Burge; brother-in-law, Jerry Durant; brother-in-law, Wilbur Durant; two grandsons; three granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen Burge; and brother, Larry Burge.
Cremation will take place with no services and scattering of ashes at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson.
