Rose Marie Estes

Sept. 3, 1933 - April 22, 2013

ANGOLA, Ind. — Rose Marie Estes, 79, of Angola, passed away on April 22, 2013, at Cameron Memorial Hospital in Angola after a brief illness.

She was born in Cape Girardeau, Mo., on Sept. 3, 1933, to George William and Helen Dorthea (Mayhew) Hirsch. She graduated from Central High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University. Rosie was dearly loved by many and will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched.

She married Raymond Estes on Aug. 9, 1953. He survives in Angola. Throughout their married life they lived in Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana. Before moving to Angola in 1995, they were longtime residents of Anderson.

Throughout Rosie’s life she was an avid golfer, tennis player, and all-around sports enthusiast. She loved time spent with friends and family and had special warmth for children. She was a hospital volunteer and was active in her church choir, Tri Kappa Sorority and North Anderson Church of God. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. But most of all she enjoyed being her family’s biggest fan.

Surviving are her children, Ryan (Lesa) Estes of Angola, Reid (Kathy) Estes of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Robyn (Craig) Coatney of Fremont; daughter-in-law, Susie Estes; her beloved 11 grandchildren, Tyler, Molly, Colin, Cody, Carson, Tucker, Shelby, and Turner Estes, Natalie (Ryan) Marshall and Erin and Connor Coatney; and her three great-grandchildren, Cameron, Baileigh and McKaylynn Estes.

She was preceded in death by her father, George; mother, Helen; two brothers, Kenneth and William Hirsch; and her son, Rodger Estes.

Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Cremation will take place.

Memorial contributions may be made to Women in Transition, 410 S. John St., Angola, IN 46703, or Dove Harbor, 1400 Broadway St., Anderson, IN 46012.
