---- — PLEASANT — Charles Rae Stopher, 70, Pleasant, died June 16, 2013, in Vevay.
Born Dec. 26, 1942, in Milan, he was a 1960 graduate of Rising Sun High School. He was inducted into the United States Air Force on May 5, 1961, in Indianapolis, rising to the rank of Airman 2nd Class, serving during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on May 5, 1965, at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kan.
Charles was an electronic technician from the Jefferson Proving Ground, retiring in 1994. He was united in marriage to Lois Ann Russell and they shared 14 years of marriage together until her death on Aug. 21, 2012.
Survived by daughters, Dawn Michael of Dillsboro, Susan Lothridge of Canaan, Mindy Estes of Canaan, and Charlene Collins and her husband, Paul of Lawrenceburg; stepdaughter, Lora Ann Lawson of Arcadia; stepsons, Virgil Wayne Michael Jr. of Canaan, and Mark Allen Michael and his wife, Anna, of Elwood; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; brother, George Stopher of Vevay; and sister, Bonnie Wright of Dillsboro.
He was preceded in death by parents, Charles Richard and Frances Belle (Cunningham) Stopher; and his wife.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Perkinsville Cemetery, Perkinsville.
Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry St., Vevay.
Full military rites will be conducted by the Lapel American Legion Post No. 212, at the Perkinsville Cemetery, Perkinsville.
