MARKLE — Marvin Loren Lawson, 79, formerly of Anderson, died June 14, 2013, at Markle Health & Rehabilitation Center in Markle after an extended illness.
He was born Jan. 24, 1934, in Madison County, to Charles Henry and Claire Mabel (Fink) Lawson.
He worked in paint and assembly for General Motors for 28 years.
He attended East Lynn Christian Church where he sang in the choir, and he was a member of Toastmasters. He enjoyed restoring old cars and country music.
Survivors include his daughter, Cynthia Elaine Kohut of Warren; son, Michael Loren Lawson of Anderson; and a sister, Margaret Drennon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and a sister.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service officiated by the Rev. Susan Cameron. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to American Heart or Diabetes Association.
