ANDERSON — Bobbie D. Ellis, 69, passed away on June 17, 2013, at Community Hospital, Anderson.
Bobbie was born on July 19, 1943, in Shaw, Miss. She was a resident of Anderson for 45 years. Bobbie was an avid gardener. She loved flowers and plants. Bobbie enjoyed children and was a foster parent to many. She enjoyed shopping and doing for others. She loved God and her family. She was a member of Greater Light Church and affiliated with Miracle Faith Temple and Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memories, son, Michael Ward and daughter, Carmon (Wayne) Staples; brothers, Willie Earl Davis and Will Mac Lee; sister, Princess Franklin; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends who will miss her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie B. Ellis; mother, Thelma Lee; father, Clinton Ward; a sister, Luticia Berry; and brothers, James, Roosevelt and Ike Lee.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Greater Light Church, 317 Marine Drive, Anderson, with the Rev. Mike Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church.
